      Hi Mozzaa

We have an imagination as it helps provide meaning to our experiences and provides understanding to knowledge. It is a fundamental facility through which we make sense of the world and it also plays a big role in the learning process. It also allows us to create theories based on experiences which helps us invent new things

Probably because having an imagination gives us a competitive advantage, and so has allowed people with imagination to do well (and have more children, and keep them alive for longer) compared with those that didn’t.

      wow – hard question!
I don’t know why we have an imagination (that implies that someone decided to give us one), but I think it is our capacity to imagine which has caused humans to achieve some amazing (and amazingly awful) things.
