That’s a philosophical question Alekss! The meaning of life is 42 and the reason humans were put on the earth was to work out why they are there

For the first part, I don’t know – that’s a question that most people think about throughout their lives. For the second part, you need to have assumed that we were put on this earth i.e. that there was some intention. If you’re a religious person, then the why question is probably best thought about through religion. Its something that science isn’t very good at.

That’s a very good question – and a very deep one. It’s certainly beyond the scope of science to answer though. It’s a question I’ve asked myself and I’m now pretty sure I have a good idea what the answer is – but that’s more though my Christian faith than any scientific research I’ve done.

I’m afraid this goes beyond science into religion and philosophy, so it’s a bit out of my league. As you say – was there a reason humans were put on the earth? I don’t actually believe we were put here by a higher power – I think we just happened to evolve here, but I think we still have a responsibility to look after the place for other species and future populations.

I think that’s something that you will have to decide for yourself alekss 🙂 What do you think?
