      Hi

      I believe the theory that a metoerite collided with the Earth. There is geological evidence to support this (such as craters in the earth and importantly age of some rock types) and seems to be the more plausible

      I’m into asteroid collision with earth. There’s lots of energy in asteroids, so they do plenty of damage; furthermore, we know from some big volcanoes that sending particulate matter up into the atmosphere can change the weather … so from a really big one we can imagine that the whole climate might be changed … and there is evidence for big asteroid collisions at about the right time to explain dinosaur extinctions (and other extinctions too).

      I probably go with the asteroid collision theory. I go with this one because analysis of strata at a depth which relates to that time period has an iridium peak (approximately 30 times higher than normal) – the most likely source of this iridium is from a meteorite
