Oh – I wish i did know the answer to this, because I could make a lot of money if I could get ahead of the game!
I’m amazed at the developments we’ve had over the last few decades. My dad did a degree in computer science in the 1980s – the computers he used then are dumber than mobile phones are now!

I think that the pace will slow, as more of technology hits barriers imposed by physics. For example, limits determined by the speed of light. It may also be that society decides that a slower pace of change is wanted, and then perhaps society might deliberately put the breaks on technological development – it is hard to see this happening in democratic countries, but perhaps it should!

That’s an interesting question. There’s no doubt that in my field we will be able to regenerate damaged tissue more effectively, especially nervous tissue in areas like the spinal cord. This will use things like stem cell technologies, electrical fields and tissue engineering methods. I also think that augmented reality, where the real world and virtual world overlap will take off. Our mobiles will be equipped to be able to tell us all about a surrounding area by overlapping virtual info onto a photo. Bit like google maps, but better!
