• Question: how long do u think it will take you to complete your record

      Good question leah, one I can answer in three ways…
      With the long term, it will take us until the end of 2011 (hopefully) to finish building the car and then we will start doing runs early in 2012.
      In middle terms, the record needs you to do two runs in opposite directions in one hour. This means we have to reach 1000mph, stop again, replace a rocket, refuel a rocket, refuel a jet engine, replace the parachutes and reset the airbrakes, do the safety checks and do another 1000mph run all in 60 minutes!
      In short terms though, the record is gained by going through the ‘measured mile’. At top speed it will only take us 3 and a half seconds to do this…
