I absolutely LOVE my job Mason.
Of course with any job there are positive and negative points. Being such a small team and such a complicated project it means that I often work long hours, travel quite a bit and often have to work to very tight deadlines! Despite that though, I am working on something that I believe in – I believe in why we are doing this project, I believe it is possible, and we are really doing something ground breaking. I can honestly think of nothing I would rather do than this. It sounds a bit corny, but I do really love my job. I know that in a few years time I will be there and watch the car run, and that will make it all worth it!

      Hi Mason

I enjoy my job alot. No one day is exactly the same and I get to mix research with teaching so do a variety of things as part of the job. I am doing research in an area which will benefit patients and lead a lrage tream of great people who are fun to work with and manage. There are always bad days and hassles, but generally it’s good

      Hi Mason
I’ve generally been lucky and really enjoyed my jobs – one reason is because I’ve had lots of variety.
I started by examining really tiny (<3mm) samples of steel to try and identify problems on a production line which was half a mile long!

Then I ended up looking after experimental equipment which included poisonous gases, a furnace which could heat things above 800oC and a bath of molten zinc!

At another time I did an experiment on solar energy which was so big I needed scaffolding and ladders to get to the top!

Another thing I love about my job is that my work should benefit lots of people. I'm trying to develop systems which reduce the amount of fossil fuels (gas/electricity/oil) which houses need. This should help people who have very little money left over after they've kept their house warm as well as reduce our carbon emissions.

One of the other great things about my job is the people I work with. Because they tend to be happy in their work too, the atmosphere where I work is great!

I love it, although I could also have enjoyed lots of other jobs, particularly as a Physicist or as a Physician! Probably not as a Philosopher or Philatelist; being a Physiologist is Phine!
