I am glad that someone else knows about the flying spaghetti monster!
I think that anyone should be allowed to make up their own decisions on faith and belief, so really everyone can have their own religion. Whether this becomes a recognised religion depends on how many people believe the same thing. Theoretically any religion with enough followers could become recognised 🙂
      Ra’men!

      Hi Porterj

I’m sure that if you gain enough support for something you can create anything you want. I do know that Pastafarianism was created as a protest against bringing religion into science teaching in the US as it’s a mickey take. Very good one as well

It seems to be possible, as people have done it, or at least set up cults on a religious theme. However, the people who have done it have mainly taken advantage of people to obtain money which seems like a miserable thing to do.

I followed your link to pastafarianism – I like the flyng spaghetti monster! Since that was never intended to fool people into parting with money, I can sit back and enjoy it!

Oh yes; not that I think that it is a very good idea to do so. “Scientology” is good example of a (relatively) recently invented religion.

Anyone can start a new religion with made up stuff if they want (e.g. science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard started Scientology) but that doesn’t make it the truth – and the truth is worth searching for.
