I don’t believe in the evidence for alien visits, but wouldn’t rule out some evidence being found in the future. On the balance of things, I don’t think that they have visited. This is based on the following argument … (1) it is very unlikely that there is only 1 alien civilisation within range of earth; there must be none or many; (2) if there are no civilizations nearby then there have been no visits (as we wished to prove = qed); (3) if there are many alien civilizations in range, then the chances of them not interfering with the earth in some detectable way is very small ( which contradicts our observations).
Proving point (1) relies on thinking about how many lifebearing stars are within alien commuting range of earth, which I argue is none or very many.
So, in summary, I don’t think that there have been visits, and this argument suggests that there won’t be any.
