Not on the abdomen-facing side (skin follicles only grow facing outwards), but (taking a quick look to check …) I understand that it is possible to have a few hairs in/on the belly button … Observation is an important part of science! 😉
It can indeed Curran (as long as the hairs are facing out!). A scientist called Georg Steinhauser conducted three years of research and found that the belly button grows its own unique hairs – these act like barbed hooks and catch pieces of fluff in your belly button!
I should mention that his research involved examining 503 pieces of fluff from his own belly button…
